His continuing faithfulness

Pr. 30:5:  “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”

2 Sam. 22:31:  “As for God, His ways are perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”

Ps. 12: 6:  “The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

Heb. 4:12:  “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Heb. 6:18:  “…it is impossible for God to lie.”

Heb. 13:8:  “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

What He says He will do has never and will never change.  These words are very reassuring to me today.

If there is anything you put your faith and hope in today, let it be the living God and His pure and proven word.  He has proven Himself over and over again for His children.  His is the same God who has been ever-faithful and true.  Cling to His word.  Count on Him to be your shield.  Trust in Him and allow Him to prove Himself strong and faithful to you today.  If He said He’ll do it, He will!

Thankful for a Never-changing Savior,

jamie

Healing!

I’ve waited 2 1/2 years to run around the sanctuary at my church with complete healing.  Tonight it happened!  Jesus turned around and healed me!  Tonight was my night and He broke my chains of sickness and pain!  Praise God!

I know I’ve posted this video before, but this is the song I just sang as I jogged, in my healing, around my neighborhood tonight with our new puppy.

Thank You, Jesus for healing me!  I give You all the praise, honor, and glory now and forever more!  I am Your vessel to use in any way You chose!  You brought me through these last 2 1/2 years with a testimony of Your power and Your might.  I will be careful to give You all the praise!

Truly, there is power in the name of Jesus!!  Thank you, Pastor Benjamin Nyatuka for calling down the power of God at Fort Mill Church of God tonight.  He was faithful to meet us there!

Praising Him with my whole heart!

Give!

Pr. 28:27:  “He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses.”

I have always loved the positive side of this verse.  The not so positive side; however, is a little scary.  If we hide our eyes and pretend we don’t see needs we will have many curses.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t want many curses.

We cannot hide our eyes from the needs around us.  God doesn’t play the “I didn’t realize the need was so bad” lying game.  God knows what’s in our hearts.  The Lord can see into the depths of our souls and He knows the truth.

What is beautiful is that if we give to the poor we truly will not lack.  I have never gone a day without my needs being met.  I have had hard times.  I have had times when I almost didn’t have food.  The Lord; however, always provided for my every need.  Always.  He is faithful.  He does not allow us to give and not receive in return.

Try Him.  Trust His word enough to give it a shot.  He will come through for you.  He will always be the Provider He promised to be.  He will supply your needs just as He said He would.  He will provide you with a box of food.  He will pay that bill.  He will even give bonuses sometimes:

This morning, we had a wonderful family adventure, walking to the new McDonald’s in town.  We laughed, yelled, looked at the creek, picked wildflowers, took pictures, enjoyed each other’s company, and smiled the entire time.  On our way back home, a couple stopped us and asked about our flowers and what we’d been doing.  They had the biggest smiles on their faces, and before they drove off they gave us $20 to take the kids for donuts.  How sweet was that?  We praised God for the bonus!                I think He liked our family day.  🙂

Not only did that couple give, but we were blessed by a bonus.  Thank you, Lord.

Put Him first.  Tithe your first fruits.  Give to those in need around you.  By putting your faith and trust in the Lord, you CAN do this.  You can trust in the fact that He truly is who He says He is and He will meet your needs.

If we hide our eyes, we will also find that He is who He says He is, but it won’t be so lovely.  He cannot lie.  Don’t even let the curses come your way.  Just give!  You can never out give the Creator of all things.  He’s the One that made everything in the first place.  I think He can handle the rest.

Never lacking,

jamie

Do it today!

Pr. 27:1:  “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”

At church on Sunday our Pastor reminded us that one of us could die at any moment.  He encouraged us to seize the moment we had to tell each other how we felt about one another.  We had a wonderful time of fellowship.  The next day one of our congregation members passed away.  Pastor was right.

I remember when I was 19.  My childhood friend was in a car wreck and some of our mutual friends called in the middle of the night to say she wasn’t expected to make it to morning.  My mom actually spoke to them on the phone, so I didn’t hear the urgency in their voices.  I had to open at work the next day and, being 19, still thought we were invincible.  I determined that I would pray for her and go see her as soon as I left work the next day.  I never imagined she’d actually die.

The knock on my door the next morning informed me I was wrong.  The decision I made haunted me for a long time.  Now, almost 20 years later, I still try to remind myself to speak my feelings of affection while I still have time.  I’m not perfect at it.  I still get distracted, busy with housework, and nervous, but overall I try to share love, affection, and encouragement whenever possible.  I am one of those “huggers.”  🙂

It is fine to plan for the future, but don’t put off until tomorrow the things that truly matter.  Today, determine to spend time with the Lord, express your love and affection for those in your life who truly matter, and reach out to someone you know that needs your touch.  Who knows if you or they will have a tomorrow?

I love and care for you,

jamie

Have a message that needs delivered?

Pr. 26:6:  “He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.”

Have you ever sent a message with someone only to have it end in chaos or be completely undelivered?  I’ve experienced this.  I have allowed others to handle issues for me in the past and the result was complete chaos, sometimes even changing the course of my life.  Misunderstandings are often made even worse when allowed to be handled by 3rd parties.  True communication between 2 people is nearly impossible if they are not speaking directly.

I noticed in 1 Cor. 16:21 that Paul finished his letter to the Corinthians noting that it was in his own hand.  He wanted to ensure that they knew he was taking ownership for his words and that the words they were reading were the truth straight from him and not from the interpretation of another.  It’s important that we know the truth of a matter before we accept it as truth.

When you hear something from a 3rd party, please remember that it may not be true.  Take it with a grain of salt, and if the matter is important enough for you to truthfully know, then ask the other person who’s directly involved.   Also, if you have a matter to discuss with someone else, do it directly if at all possible.  Ensure that your words have the integrity of your character behind them.  Protect the other party, as well, by speaking to them directly.

Sometimes these things take more courage, preparation, and patience, but the pay off is that we won’t have to drink the violence of the chaos that would have otherwise transpired.  God supplies all our needs.  He equips us and He takes care of vengeance for us.  Let’s trust Him enough to allow Him to help us through all of our communications with others.  When you have prayed and confirmed that you really need to deliver that next message, allow the Holy Spirit to do the speaking.  He will help you through.

Hoping to keep my feet attached today,

jamie

Are you a murky spring?

Pr. 25:26:  “A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well.”

Unfortunately, as Christians we do feel a little more pressure on us at times to be perfect; which is something we can never do.  What gets us into heaven?  Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  There is only one way and His name is Jesus Christ.  Our actions do not get us there.  Our bank account does not get us there.  Our choice of clothing does not get us there.  Our volunteer role at church will not get us into heaven.  We have to believe in Jesus.

Why then does it matter what we do?  It matters because if we believe in Jesus, then out of our hearts will flow rivers of living waters.  Those rivers are the Holy Spirit who will then dwell within us, directing us to do God’s will.  When we believe in and love Jesus we are changed.  We become a new creation and the things that used to satisfy no longer do.  We are cleansed and renewed when we are born again into Christ and we realize that our purpose is much higher than us.  The Holy Spirit guides us in all things and brings to our remembrance the things of God.  The Holy Spirit cautions us and rebukes us when we are going to make a decision that will create a gap between us and the Lord.  The Lord cannot look upon sin.  The Holy Spirit is keeping us ever mindful of the things of God so that our lives will smell like Jesus.

When we do not heed the Holy Spirit’s direction and urgings, and we choose to sin and allow ourselves to be deceived, then we become a murky spring.  No longer do rivers of living water flow from us.  The waters that come from us are then murky and filled with confusion.  When we falter before the wicked, we are losing an opportunity to give them the Living Water.  We miss the chance to introduce someone to a Savior when we waver in our purpose.   The living waters flowing from us become contaminated with sin and tainted with deceit.  Is that what we want to offer to the lost around us?

There are people around us that will be lost to hell if not for us.  We are not called to be perfect.  We will never be perfect.  We are only even worthy because of the blood of Jesus.  However, we were called to live a life led by the Holy Spirit.  He is ever faithful to guide us into all truth.  He will keep us from the wrong paths if we but listen.  He will guide our steps if we will allow Him to lead and guide us.

Let’s trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding.  There is one who knows all things, including the deep things of God.  We are blessed and privileged to have an ever-present guide on our walk.  Let’s allow Him to do the exact thing for which He was sent.  🙂  How amazing that God truly gave us everything we could ever need!  Thank you, Lord.  Truly no praise is high enough to express how great you are!  Now let’s let those living waters refresh and renew the lost around us!

Counting on Him,

jamie

Wake up and eat…for heaven’s sake.

John 6:48:  “I am the bread of life.”

John 6:35:  “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life.  He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

Pr. 24:30-34:  ” I went by the filed of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; and there is was, all overgrown with thorns; its surface was covered with nettles; its stone wall was broken down.  When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction.  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.”

Pr. 20:13: “Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty.  Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.”

Get up!  Spend time with Jesus each morning.  Be filled with “The Bread” of Life!

Both of the scriptures in Proverbs speak of poverty…I read them to also speak of poverty of the soul.  A little extra sleep in the morning; laziness keeping us from getting out of bed to spend time with The Lord, and poverty will quickly come upon our souls.  We will quickly become devoid of understanding, thorns will quickly spread upon our hearts and nettles will choke out the fruit of The Spirit within us.  A little extra slumber and we will become broken, believing lies instead of truth, exchanging the truth about our strength in The Lord with the enemy’s deceiving lies about our weaknesses.

If we will open our eyes, we will truly be satisfied with bread.  We will be strengthened instead of broken.  We will become pure through His blood.  We will be set free, instead of pierced with the thorns that come from feeding our flesh.  We will be filled with wisdom, instead of drained of all understanding.  The fruit of The Spirit will be evident in us instead of being choked out by the nettles of the fruit of our own ways.  Our souls will be rich and overflowing instead of destitute hungry.

Don’t allow poverty to overtake your soul like an armed man overtakes a victim.  Amass an arsenal of truth.  Stockpile praise as a wall of defense.  Protect yourself at all costs.  Invest in your soul.  Invest in your eternal life.  This investment is a guaranteed success!

Stockpiling,

jamie
